Hart windmill used to grind corn for farms in all parts of the area from the 14th Century. The mill was one of atleast nine windmills in a 3 mile radius of the towns. There are only two remaining. Restoration took place in 1991 and it is regarded as one of the best examples of a typical Northern windmill in existance.
